Zander Jackson’s 68′ Firebird Restoration

This is my bud Zander’s 68′ Pontiac Firebird. His brother bought it as a rolling shell on eBay earlier this year. Plans changed for his brother, so Zander took on the project himself. As soon as it was in his possession the restoration process began. The very first thing he did was strip the car down, and had his mechanic fabricate a rotisserie to hold the car up. He took the car up to Indy to have all the surface rust removed in some chemicals. He found a 455 Longblock from a 75′ Grand Prix, ordered a Tremec 5 Speed Transmission, CCW Classics Wheels/Tires, Heidts Front Suspension, Strange Engineering Rear End (373 Gears), Wilwood 4 Piston Calipers, Wilwood 11″ Rotors, QA1 Coilovers, and hes replacing any OEM parts that requires it. He’s planning on painting it Lambo Grey, and is shitting for 450-500HP N/A. Hes shooting for the car to be done by early 2010 (Jan-Feb). Possibly look out for more updates on the ride! Any questions, shoot them my way.

Yolo Restaurant Pre-open Invitation Dinner

My Friends Eric, Boomer, Zander, and I got invitations to test out Yolo Restaurant before they open to the public. We started off with a Spinach Dip appetizer. I liked it, and it reminded me of J. Alexanders. Only problem we found was that it was a little too liquidy. We all ordered our food. Eric got the NY Strip, Boomer got the Tuna Steak, Zander got the Strip’N'Cheese, and I got the Monterey Burger. Each meal came with a salad, two of us got ceasers, and the other two got house salads. One with Pesto Italian and the other with Oil & Vinegar. I enjoyed my salad except for the chic peas. Eric and Zander thought the ceaser was a little too tangy, and didn’t think the sun dried tomatoes fit well either. All our meals we’re pretty damn good. Boomer had one complaint, “my loaded baked potatoe isn’t very loaded”. Eric’s full in-depth review of his experience is below in HD video. Check it out, and check out the pictures.

T over at PhatKaps gave everyone an invite to come kick it with Wale at PhatKaps. I snapped a picture with him, and he signed my CD. Hes a chill dude, I even cracked a joke about twitter with him (he doesn’t ever respond). I mumbled hard tho, so he might of just laughed to be nice. Anyways, as he was leaving I asked if he could give a shoutout for my blog, and surely enough he did. Thanks Wale, CD is dope and you did a hellava job at the concert.

Tonight I went to the Jay Z, Wale, J. Cole Concert at Vandy. The concert was just sick. Wale and Jay Z murdered it. Very cool, chill, and inspirational concert. Jay played a lot of old hits, and also performed new hits from BluePrint 3. I couldn’t take my camera in, but I did take pictures at Mai afterwards.

Freshjive Disses again?

I’m a pretty big fan of The Hundreds. I don’t wear Alife or Crooks much, but still got to pan out and show my support for them. I also have a Freshjives shirts around my room, but I think Rick Klotz (owner of Freshjive) has finally snapped. I saw the Burrito Supremes parody (aka DISS) shirt today as I was on The Hundreds blog, and thought WTF? The Hundreds has always showed love for Freshjive. They were even the first to interview Rick Klotz after his plan to removed all labels from his upcoming drops. Freshjive is however known for this. Stussy sewed them back in 05′ for infringement (Stussy Lawsuit). Freshjives been around for so long. It’s had its up’s and down’s. I think this is just a way to get its sales up, even though Klotz claims hes not in it for the money.
